Abstract:
The present study was conducted to assay certain biochemical changes that may occur in serum of sheep infested with fasciola. For this purpose, a total number of 43 male sheep wereused. The animals were subjected to pre-slaughtering examination for detection of healthy animals. After slaughtering, liver was examined and blood, fecal and gall bladder samples were collected.Fecal and bile samples were subjected to parasitological examination and according to the severity ofinfestation, animals were divided into 4 groups. The first group (10 animals) served as control, the second group (11animals) represents light infestation, the third group (12 animals) represents moderate infestation and the fourthgroup (10 animals) represents heavy infestation. The gained results were statistically analyzed andrepresented in 51 tables and 36 figure, and can be summarized as follow:1- Transaminases (AL T & AST)a) AL T was significantly increased in moderate infestation while non- significant changes wereobserved in the other two groups.b) A~T was significantly increased at all levels ofinfestation. 2- There was a significant increase in total ALP
