Some Studies on Brucellosis In Donkeys

Abstract:
A total number of 510 dor~eys were subjected to clinical and serological examinations, namely theplate agglutination; the tube agglutination; Mercaptoethanol and the Rose Bengal plate tests.The results of tube agglutination test showed that the incidence of brucellosis in donkeys testedWas 27.05%. from that number 81 (58.60%) were posi-tive at a titre of 1110; 38 (~’:7.3%) at a titre of 1:20 and 19 (13.7%) were positive at a titre of 1:40or over. The incidence was higher in females than in males and Was noticed to be higher with older age.Donkeys between the age of 10-15 years were mostly infected.The results of Mercaptoethanol and the Rose Bengal plate tests gave a negative result with all the samples.Thenmilk ring test Was applied only on 54 samples from lactating she donkeys which reacted positively to the aggJ_utination tests .• The resultsshowed that the milk ring test Was usually positive with the lactating animals which Was suffering from
