Abstract:
This study was carried out to evaluate certain livertunction tests in normal cattle as well as in cattlewith liver disease according to the type of liver damagewhich is based on macroscopical and microscopicalexamination of liver sections. Diseased cattle weredivided into suppurative hepatitiS.•, hepa t Lc cirrhosis,both suppurat~ve pepatitie, and cirrhosis, and hepaticdegeneration. The results obtained from biochemicalanalysis were as follows:1.The results obtained, revealed a highly s~nificantincreases in total serum bilir~bin in case of suppurative hepatiti., hepatic cirrhosis, and in both suppurative hepatitis and cirrhosis affectedcattle groups, also a signifioant increase occurred in affectet cattle group with hepatio degeneration.2-Blood glucose levels showed a highly significant decrease which was more obvious in oattle groupsaffectet with Buppurative hepatitis and hepatio cirrhosis hhan those affected with both suppurativehepatitis and oirrhosis. In hepatic degenerationaffe.ted group, the blood gl~cose level was withinthe normal range.
