Abstract:
l.In this work. bacteridogical investigation wascarried in 13 abattoirs at Sharkia province.A total of 450 samples were collected frDm the drainaasystem inside and outside, floor and utensil surfaces ofabattoir.2~ Inside abattoir, the maximum total bacterial countwas’found 90xl016 per ml~ of sewage fluid at 37°0 witha minimum of 63xl09 per ml., and at 22°0 the maximum wasl30xl016 with a minimum of 200xl08 pe~’ml.3~ Outside abattOir, the maximum count was found BOxwith a minimum of 36xl07 per m.l(t at 37°0, while at 22•0 ’maximum is 140xlOl.5 with a minimum of 64xl07 per ml~ ’4. Floor and utensil surfaces; the maximum bacteriacount per 1 cm~ at 37°0 of floor and utensil surfaces we63xlOl~ and 70xlOlO~ ;itb a minimum of 35xl06 abd 46xlO~per am2 respectively •.5~ The total bacterial count per ml. of sewage flujwas decreased after storage in the open atmosphere for45daysfrom80xlOl1to 48xl06 at 37°0, and at 22°0 froIi38xl011 to 66xl08! ’
