Abstract:
In this investigation, some aspects of biologicalstudies were carried out including histological. bio-ohemical radiological and radiographical studies ofthe digestive system of pigeons. For this purpose, 130 Balady pigeons (Columbiadomestica)t 89 immature ’and 41 mature pigeons were used.l!~T (I)OollCe.nU!1”:; Enzymic acti vi ty and hydrogenion of the pigeons digestive traat, the alimentary traat~d pancreatic extracts are acid in reaction with highestacidity in the gizzard of the mature pigeons (2.71).The intestinal tract. pancreatic extracts andserum possesses amylo1ytic activity. Generally, the~t~e pigeons have more powerful amylolyt1c activitythan immature ones. The strongest amylolytic activitywas encountered in the intesti~ (479.41 ~ 564.7 units)and serum (513.67 units) of mature pigeons andpancreatic extra~ts (44l.0 units) of immature pigeons. Moreover~ the microflora increase the amylo1ytic ofpigeon saliva. and crop oontents.
