Abstract:
In this trial the effect of adding, Dl-Methionine 0.5%, DL-Lysine 1%, choline chloride O.15%in diet,selen-iurn 0.2 ppm , vitamin E 150 mg/litre alone or witrr this dosage of vitamin E, to growing chicks on the immunityresponse was studied. The influence was tried on cell- ular and humoral immunity response. Parameters for thisinvestigation included body weights, daily body gain, haemoglobin value, packed cell volume, leucocytic vol-ume, and differential white cell count; relative per- centage weights of spleen, thymus, tb.yroids and bursaof fabricius; haemagglutination• .inhibition titer for NewCastle Disease vaccination; total serum protein value and disc-gel polyachrilamide electrophoresisserum protein fractionation. The antigens used were the dead vaccine of NeD (Layer plus-I.V.A.Z. Padova Italy) and one ml of 20% washed sheep red blood corpuscles injected subcutane-ously at 36 days old.DL-Methionine as 0.5% in diet caused a signifi- cant increase in body weight and that was more pron- ounced when vitamin E was also administered in drinking water.
