Abstract:
A general survey on the prevailing Diptera infesting cattle under local enviromental conditions of Dakahlia’governerate has been conducted.2- A total of 3299 flies were captured at different occa-sions in Dakahlia governerate from April 1983 tillMarch 1984 from three localities, Dekernis, Manzala and Mansoura.3- Identifying of different species of flies captured, it has been found that Musca species represented the highestnumber (93.63%) of whole collection, Hippobosca equina (3.43%) came next, and a small number of Stomoxys calcit-rans (0.39%), Sarcophaga species (1.45%), Chrysomiaalbi- ceps (0.12%), Tabanus taeniola (0.82%).4:’ Three species of Mu sea were Musca vi tripenni~, M. vicina,M.sorbens which were in 42.07, 36.56 and 15.0% respectiv- ley of the total flies collected.
