Abstract:
1- Twelve chickens of both sex were given, balancedration free from antibiotics for 2, weeks period. Two chickens- as controls - were then examined for absence of antibioticresidues from their musculature and organs. The remaining10 chickens were injected with Diacillin (30,000 i.u. /kgbody weight) as a single dose intramuscularly. Two chickenswere slaughtered 3 f 6 , 9 , 12 and 24 hours after injection.Samples were taken from breast, thigh muscles, liver, kidneyand gizzard under complete aseptic condition and examined forantibiotic residues.It was found that Diacillin disappeared6 hours after injection from all samples.2- Twelve chickens of both sex were kept for 2 weeks.Two of them were then used as controls. The rest of them(10 chickens) were injected wi th Terramycin at a level of 15mg/kg body weight intramuscularly as a single dose. Two chick-ens were slaughtered after 6 , 18 , 20 , 24 and 48 hours ofinjection. Sample s were taken from breast , thigh muscles,liver, kidney and gizzard, were examined for the presence ofantibiotic residues as in case of Diacillin.
