Abstract:
The present work was performed to evaluate three organo~h08)horus acaricides. The efficacy of theseacaricides Vias studied on Boophilus annuletw”l ticks infesting cattle under field conditions.’ Also A com!)-arison among these acaricides was studied on different developmental stages of HYalomma dromedariiticks, usin~different dilutions of these acaricides. The toxicef’ects of these aCEricides on some SArum constituents of rabbits when administered orally, Vias studied.Field application of the tested acaricides on infested cattle revealed that these drugs have a ~ir::htickicidal effect. The efficacy of these acaricides on the first day was 74.8 , 79.5 and 86.8% and on the fifthday the efficacy was 98.37, 99.53, and 100% respectively.) On the 18th day the efficacy was 95 97, 96.2, and 90.7% respectively.LSQoratQry studies revealed that phoxim was the most e:fective acaricide as it showed a rapid and intenseknock down effect on different stages of H. dromedarii tick~, follo~ed by oxinothiophos and later coumaphos.Exposed non-engorged larvae and nymphs Vlere anable to attache rabbi t4::.s ears for further- breeding-. The engo-rged larvae and nymphs vlere unable to metamorphose to the follo~ing stages. Later on eggs deposited by someof the exposed engorged females Vlere few in number, deformed and sterile.
