This study was conducted to determine heavy metalresidues in sheep carcasses. In order to determine influence ofage and sex on heavy metal accumulation, four groups of sheepcarcasses (5 each) slaughtered at Zagazig abattoir wereutilized after being examined for age and sex. Groups 1 to 4comprised young males, young females, aged males, and agedfemales, respectively. Tissue samples including muscle, liver, kidney and spleen (20 gm each) were collected from sheepcarcasses. Individual samples were immediately transmitted tothe laboratory with its identifications (type of tissue, sex, andage of sheep).Samples (one gram each) were subjected for wet digestionprocedure in screw capped tubes using nitric, perchloric acidmexture (3:2). The tubes, following overnight incubation atroom temperature, were placed in a water bath set at 70°C forhours to ensure complete digestion
