Pathologic Studies of Mycotic Affections on Broiler In Large Farms

Abstract:
The present study on mycotic affections of chickens declared that. The aspergillosis was the most prevalentmycotic diseases and their incidence was 54% followed by candidiasis 27.20/0 and finally avian ring worm was 18.10/0among the affected farms .The mortality rate from Aspergellosis among 6 infected farms was 50/0, 1.90/0, 3.80/0,1.2%,1.90/0 and 0.07% .The clinical signs were mainly respiratory manifest-ation and characterized by gasping, dyspnea, and accelrated breath.The l110st common gross lesions were caseated nodules. distributed in lung~ air sacs, liver. intestine pancreas,mesentry, skeletal muscles and kidneys.The Microscopic picture showed granuloma with or without hyphae and thrombosis of blood vessels by mycelia.The latter indicated the spread of infection via blood to different organs. Avian ring worm characterized by low mortalities reached 1.70/0 and 2.50/0 in the affected 2 flocks.Gross appearance developed on the unfeathered portions of the head and represented by white crusts on thecomb and on the skin of the head and neck accompanied with feather loss and scale formation when the infectionspread allover the body.Microscopically, The skin of the examined chickens revealed hyperkeratosis, parakeratosis, ulceration, rete pegs formation or destruction of the covering epithelium, Scatula could be seen on the covering surface. Edcma, hemorrhages,and congestion necrosis of the feather loll icles were seen in
