Abstract:
Microscopic examination of 178 raw water samples collected from River Nile and its branched canals withinthe vicinity of Greeter Cairo durine the period from may 1984 to Mar h1986 , revealed the presence of differer.t”species of parasitic eggs , parasitic nematode larvae a~d cercariae with incidence percentages of 21.35 % , 11.80 % 3.93 % respectively.The parasitic eggs encountered during the survey period were Toxocara vitulorum, Ascaris lumbricoides ,Trichuris spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Strongyloides spp., hook worm , Moniezia~ •• Hymenolepis nana , Fasciola!E£., and Eimeria~. oocysts.The recovered parasitic nematode larvae were of Strongyloides spp., TrichostronGylus spp., Stronrylus spp.,hook worm and Cooperia spp.The cercariae recovered were cercaria vivax , cercaria cristata , pleurolophocercaria , xiphiocercariaand two different types of monostome cercariae •
