~the effect of systemio administration of progest-erone, oestrod1al. oxytocin and dexamethasone in pregnanto-uin.~ pigs was investigated. A daily dose was injected i~m. lor two weeks, commencing on the doy 30 postcoitus(p.~,.). the following was noticed:-1.Pregnancy duration was not prolonged or shortened in groups treated wl th progesterone or dexame thnaone,2.Oestrogen administration oaused intrauterine foetal death on day 45 p.c3- Premnture foetal delivery was observed after oxytoo1n injeotion on doS 45 p.c,4- On treatment with oestrogen the parameters investigated revealed the following changes.-l- After one week,that, is 37days p,.ci,_The level of oestradiol and PGF2 00 deoreased by 27,.57% and 7,_78% respectively,.’ while that of progesterone inoreased by 47.~58%.ii.During thesame week the plas~a level of K, 00, Mg, and IVIn. increased by 6,~05%.)13,.4l%,11~91% and 43,.08% respectively,~ while the No level decreased by 25,_76%,,,-
