Abstract:
The pre sent work was undertaken to reveal someside effects of testosterone propionate and growthhormone in rats. It was carried out on 180 malealbino rats of 20 days old and 25 - 30 grams bodyweight. They were divided into two equal groupseach of which was subdivided into 3 subgroups of30 rats.’I’he effects of te stosterone propionate whengiven in doses of 10.0 and 25.0 mg/kg. b. wt./daywere studied on two groups of 30 male rats eachand compared with those of the control group. Thatof growth hormone was investigated after its admini-steration in doses of 4.0 and ~O.O u/kg.b.wt./ day.I’he effects of the te sted hormone s were recorded every2 weeks for 6 consecutive weeks.In this investigation, the effects of thestudied hormones on body weight gain, weights of someinternal organs, tissue protein, DNA and RNA contentsof liver and seminal vesicles, serum proteins andalbumin and some electrolyte constituents in serumare included.The body weight gain of rats in each group wasrecorded weekly for 6 weeks. Every 2 weeks 10 rats
