Studies on Atypical Mycobacteria in Domestic Animals in Egypt

Abstract:
639 lymph nodes were collected from 9 abattio~s at 9 governrates. The specimens included 525 lymph nodes from different slaughtered animal species showing tuberculous like leisons and 114 samples from tuberculin positive cows and buffaloes. The samples we8 M.. flavescence, 7. M. fortuitum, 2 M. gordonae and 10 isolates were unidentified 5- The most prevelent isolates secured from cattle wereM. intracellulare (9), !. flavescence and 1,1. fortuitum (4 for each), J~. scrofulaceum(2) and ~. gordonae(one) in addition to two .i ao Laties of unidentified rapidly growing mycobacteria. 6- In buffaloes, it was found that ~J. scrofulaceum andM. flavescence (two for each) , intraoellulare (one) .
