Microbiological Studies on Avian Arthritis in Egypt

Reovirus infection which is world wide distributed has been isoa1ted from broiler chickens reared in Egypt and infected with Tenosynovitis. Therefore the present study included four groups of expriments:Characterization of local Avian Arthristis isoa1te aThese studies pointed out that:Cross Agargel and Neutralization tests proved that the local isolate is rea1ted to strain Sl133.The local isolate is resistantto 600C for 8 hours, 20% ethyl ether and acidic pH3. The local isolate has no haemagg1utina- tion activity to 1% Red blood cells of chicken, rabbit, rat, horse, sheep and cattle.
