Abstract:
Thirty six guinea pigs were used in the present investigation. The animals were divided into six groups,four for experimental infection and two kept as controls.Animals under experimentation in each group were orally infected with 3000 infective embryonated Toxocara vitulerum eggs. After two weeks of the first infection a seconddose was given to groups numbered five and six.Animal of the first four groups were investigated weakly from the first week up to the fourth one postinfection respectively. Guinea-pigs of the fifth group werescarified after one week of the second infection while hhe members of the sixth group scarified after two weeks of the second infection. All animals used in the present studies were investigated for blood haematology, serum chemistries, post mortem ChangeResults of blood cytology demonstrated a decrease in the values of RBCs • Hb and PCV during the first twoweeks after infection followed bJ an increase to abbutthe normal limits towards the end of the experiment.Total leucocytes, neutrophils and lYmphocytes were minorlychanged during the whole period of experimentation.Eosinophils were observed to decrease during three weekspost infection then increased above normal in the fourth
