Some orcanig and inorganic cons tit uents of normal blood of clarias lazera and clarias anguillaris

The present study was planned to study the normal serum levels of some organic and inorganic constituentsin fresh water fishes. The values of serum electrolytes i.e. Mg, Na, K, Ca, P and Cl. and organic constituentsi.e. Alkaline phosphatase, Acid phosphatase, Glucose, Cholesterol, Urea and Icterus index were studied in bothmale and female Clarias anguiilaris and Clarias lazera.The obtained results of ti~~ investigation revealed the following1- In male and female Clarias angui11arias the average serum Mg was 3.38 and 4;14 mg/lOO ml and in Clariaslazera it was 3.60 and 4.32 mg/lOO ml respectively.2- The average serum sodium level of Clarias ~guillaris was 258 and 230 mg/100 ml in males and females respect-ively, while in Clarias lazerait reached 250 and 219.5 . mg/lOO ml respectively.3- The serum potassium level of Clarias anguillariswas 26 and 21.8 mg/100 ml in males and females respectively whereas in Clarias lazerathe average value was 23 and19 mg/100 ml respectively.
