Abstract:
In the field of African horsesickness disease virus inactivation and trieLls for production of Lna c t Lve te d killed virus vaccine with adjuvant, the ’effect of two differentchemi~al inactivators designated formaldehyde and acetyl- ethylene imine (AEI) on the infectivity, antigenicity and immunogenicity of AHS type 9 (S2) virus has been studied. Production of AHS inactivated vaccine for the first time in Egypt, should has itsFormalin in concentration 0.02% (1:5000) complet9 virusinactivation was achieved after 48 hours post treatment at both temperature· degrees 37°C and 25°C. Applying AEI inactivant, the virus was entirely killed after 96 hours at 37°C and within 132 hours at 25°C. Vlhila infectivity power of the virus was ocmpl
