Abstract:
The present study dealt rith two major aspects of Klebsiella infection in chickens & The first one was theincidence of Klebsiella species, typing of the isolates among both baby chicks and developing chick embryos while the second was concerned ’with experimental infection of Klebsiella peciesin young ”Chicks to study the clinico-and histopathological pictures produced by various types of Klebsiella micro-organisms. Of two hundred and 75 baby chicks examined bacterio- logically,’ 76 (27.64 %) carcases harboured Klebsiella micro- organisms whilKlebsiella isolates were typed as Koozaenae, ~Gpneumoniae and K~ oxytocum with percent ages of 43.86, 30.70 and 24.56 respectively. idlost of the Klebsiella micro-organisms wereisolated from chickens in between I to 7 days of age. The highest frequency of Klebsiella infection was obtained fromthe heart blood, unabsorbed yolk sac, lungs and intestinal contents.In the expErimental studies , one hundred and twenty 3 - 5 days old Fayomy chickens were divided into four equal groups, 3 groups were orally dosed with each of the three
