Abstract:
Seventy five samples of imported. meat products ( 25 cans each of stewed steak, luncheon meat and corned beef) were collected from local markets and. subjected to visual inspection and bacteriological exanination for incidence of anaerobes. <Identificatio34. Biochemioaj. reactions including nitrate reduction, i indole production, a2s production, and fermentation of different augers.Isolates we:’e identified according to their earacteriatjc earurea compiled from available references and tabu1ted. in tables A,B & 0. included within the “ Materials & 1Lethods “ . Fourteen s-ecies of elostrjdia were isolated and identified includng 0. s0. putrificum, 0. eadaveris, 0. bifermentans ,0. butyricum, 0. tetanomorphu.m, C. tertiuin, 0. eochlear— ium, 0. putrefaciens, 0. sordelli, 0. histolyticum, C,, haemo1y-ticim, and 0. septioum.
