4The results achieved in this study can be summerized as follows: 1. 107strains of RVF virus isola~ed from different sources including man, sheep, goat, cow, horse, camel, rodents and mosquitoe in Egypt since the outbreak of the RVF in 1977 were tested foOne strain was isolated from human ca)S)280/ Sharkia), the second from sheep lSheep)S/258)Menya] and the third strain from mosquitoes(Ar)982/Aswanl.A highly adapted neurotropic Karamany strain was produced from (a)S)280)Sharkia) strain and after 100 I/Cpassage in mice, this strain will be tried as a localttenuated vaccine.2. The three selected strains were examined for their tropic affinity by I/C and I/P inoculation of mice and the results showed thBt two strains showed neurotropicone tSheep/S)2S8)Menya) had a high tendency for pantropism.
