Abstract:
ophthalmic practice causing an economic loss in the Keratomycosis is considered a serious problem in suffered with chronic conjunctivitis and keratocon-~cumbed animals and human beings. The Egyptian vetari- uy ophthalmic literatures concerning this subject were its investigation is the request of many practitioners. a trial to detect the possible mycotic causat-A total of 96 farm animals (45 donkeys, 19 cows, 19 sheep and 13 buffaloes) suffered from different ocularwere subjected for thorough mycological invest- It was found that fungi were present in 62 farm .(..64.58%) and numerous fungi were secured from~ctivitis with an in~idence percentage of (71.42%) and D2.2l~) respectively.The higher incidence of such fungalye infection was attributed to the misuse of the topical ntibiotics and/or corticos teroids therapy in the trea tmen t auch progressive cases.The fungal isolates from the examined diseased eyes ~ that Aspergillus fumigatus, Fusarium moniliforme,ida albicans, Cephalosporium falciform and Penicillium 1St: were the predominant fungal isolates, while
