Abstract:
A total number of 151 pregnant Freisian heifersaged from 18 to 24 months were included in and parted in four groups three of them from the fourth from Germany.The frist group of 16 animals arrived by air from Amester Dam to Cairo airport in about 7 hours thenby road to the quarantine station in Alexandria in about 6 hours .No food was offered to the animals dur-ing the journey, but they were watered at Cairo Airport.’I’he second and the third groups consisted of23 and 36 animals respectively and the all animals we-re transfered from Holland to France by road thento Alexandria herbour by sea.The fourth group of 76 animals was transfered from Germany to Alexandria by sea.The last three groups arrived respectively to Ale- xandria. The journey of each took 7 days. During the marin journey all the animals were fed by hey.All the animals were examined cinically at their ar- rival to the quarantine station.Most of the animals,arrived in apparantly normal condition, except fG~
