Abstract:
Our study deals with three oestrogenic compounds usedillegaly for fattening purpose in poultry farm industry. Thesecompounds are Anovlar-l, Nortted and Folone. One hundred fertile eggs used in this study which classifiedinto two groups (each contained fifty eggs). The. first group wasinoculated by 0.1 ml of Folone into yolk sac on the seventh day postincubation, while the control group inoculated by 0.1 ml of distilledwater at the same period . The hatchability percent of Folonetreated eggs are similar to that of untreated ones. S mall size foetiand multiple number of resorped , foeti had been observed intreated group. Marked hydrocephalus, stiffness of’ right leg, somechick embryo with currling leg and other reveals absence of righteye ball with unilateral odema of head. On the other side the legs ofchick embryo contain, five toes. The fifth toe comprise fourphlanges. The pregnant female rat injected intramuscularly with Folonein a dose of S mg/rnl-Kg. B.W in the seventh day of pregnancyrevealed a higher percentage of resorped foeti. low percent ofviable foeti and a slight increase of foetal weight. The prepared fetuse stained with Alizarin-red showdimpairment in the ossification of the phalanges in both fore and. hind legs, coccygeal vertebrae and sternbreae.
