In this work studies on the serological detecti~n of Rift valley ·fever antibodies by heamagglutinationinhibition, complement fixation, indirect fluorescent antibody technique and plaque reduction neutral izationtests in the sera of sheep, cattle, camels, buffaloesand goats collected from Sharkia governorate during1985, 1986, were carried out.Also, studies on the trial to isolate the Riftvalley fever virus from aborted foetus and from deadlambs were performed.A total of 780 srum samples were collected asfollows: sheep 250, camel 220, cattle 100, buffaloe110, and goats 100 from different localities of SharkiaGovernorate (Zagazig, Belbas, Fakus, EI-Hosania, Abu-K a b er: Ab u - H a m m a d & Men y a E I - K a m h ) .Also, a total of 17 liver or/and spleen fromaborted foetus and dead lambs collected from di fferentlocalities of Sharkia governorate.
