Abstract:
Some behavioural activities of 33 native Egyptian buffaloes were studied in an open house system. Thebehavioural patterns studied suggested to affect both production and reproduction processes. These patterns were:A) Ingestive behaviour:1- The ingestive activities of buffalo during 4 months of observation. showed that the mean frequency of feeding was 29.08+3.309 while the mean of feedingtime (min.) was 237.8+26.516 min. per 12 hours.2- The mean frequency of drinking was 4.6+0.517 per 12 hours while the mean of drinking time was 10.8+1.156 min3- The mean frequency of rumination was 4.4+0.4978while mean of rumination time was 225.5+26.113 min.per 12 hours.4- the correlation coefficient between feeding frequ- ency and drinking frequency was positive and signi- ficant at P<0.05 while the correlation coefficient between feeding time and drinking time was positivebut not significant.5- Correlation coefficient between rumination frequ- ency and feeding frequency as well as the correlation coefficient between feeding time and rumination time
