Some Morphological Studies on testes of some Migrating birds

Abstract:
Seventy migrating birds of different species of whcih ten were of non-migrating quails (as a.represen-t a t i v e to the normal birds) had been used in this study. All birds were classified according to encyclo-pe d i a into migrating quail, European coot, turtledove and pintail.crossmon’s trichrome stain, weigert’s elastic stain, The testes were taken immediately after sacrifice and processed till 5-6 micrometer thick, sections were prepared and stained wi th H & E, van Gieson, silver impregnation. Alcian b l ue : stain, combinafor glycogen & PAS. from the histological point of view,it has found that the testis was surrounded by a this tunica albuginea in non-migrating quail, but verytunica abuginea was found in all migrating species (outer older and inner regenerating layers
