Abstract:
120 white Pekin ducklings aged one day and purchased from duck farms, El-Khattara Projectes, at Sharkia Governorate , Egypt ,were examined clinically and bacteriologically to ensure that they were free from any parasitic or bacterial diseases.They were fed well balanced starting mash ration and drinking water.These birds were classified as follows:Group I : It consisted of 20 birds aged 3 days and reared separatelyand served as control for younger birds. Group 11: It consisted of 40 birds aged 3 days each bird was dosedorally with 5 X 10 7 a live mic~oorganisms of 5’tJimoneJJatypbimurium virulent strain (ID50) .(obtained from Animal Health Institute, Giza , Egypt) .This infective dose caused deaths within 48 hr post infection as observed in the prelminary trails beforeexperimentaion .Group 11 I : It consisted of 20 birds aged 45 days and rearedseparately and served as control for older birds.Group I V : It consisted of 40 birds aged 45 days, each bird wasintramuscularly injected by 0.1 X 106 a live microorganisms of P multocida(IDSO) , virulent strain
