Abstract:
On 15 clinically healthy buffaloes weighing 450-650 kg, 15 experiments were performed i.e. 5 animals for each sulp- honamide. Sulphadiazine, sulphadimidine aad sulphamerazinewere infused intravenously in a dose of 100 mg/kg b.wt. to maintain a constant plasma level through an experimentalperiod of 3 hours. Each sUlphanamide was given in 2 parts, an initial priming dose of 40 mg/kg. b.wt. followed by a maintainance dose of 20 mg/kg b.wt./hour through a catheterinserted in the jugular vein. Each sulphonamide was prepared for injection by dissolving in hot distilled water to which 5 NaOH was added.
