Abstract:
1- Foot- and mouth-Disease (FMD) vaccine from subtype01 virus was prepared on monolayer; cultures of BHK21Clone -13 cells, treated with formalin ,inactivated and adjuvanted with Aluminium hydroxide gel/ Saponin.2- The formulated vaccine proved to be safe and sterile and free from any pathogenic and non-pathogenic mico-bial agents.3- ’The immunogenic power of the prep red vaccine was tested in guinea pigs and revealed a protective dose(PD50) of 0.044 ml.4- Five Egyptian susceptible buffaloes at an approxima-tely the same age of pregnancy were used in thisstudy. The pregnant buffaloes were inoculated.vlith prepared Fifill vaccine in a dose of 5 ml. The immune response of these animals to vaccination by a pri-mary and secondary dose of the FMD vaccines wasinvestigated using the SNT and PfUT. 5- The inoculated pregnant buffaloes showed a considerable high SN and PHA-antibody titres at the time of birth.
