Abstract:
Blood samples were collected from 3 groups of Awas sheep free from external and internal parasites (groups Akept on grasses at Wadi-Azib, group B kept on plant at Gab area, group C fed on concentrated ration). Also liver, kindey and spleen samples were collected from each group ofslaughtered lambs as well as plants and soil samples at Wadi-Azib and Gab areas with samples of concentratedration. A- Results observed in sheep at Wadi-Azib : Calcium, magnesium and Ca/P ratio in serum of sheepwere nearly above the normal level in ~dult sheep. These observations may be due to calcium and magnesium contentsin diet~Serum phosphorus level was slightly below the nor- mal level and in young lambs it was higher than that reco- level of lactating eweswas statistically lower than that of non lactating ones, which was reflect:ed on the serum magnesium level of suckl- ing lambs in which it was significantly lower than thatestimated in adult sheep. High level of cobalt in seraof examined sheep may be attributed to the high cobaltconcentration in both soil and plants. Serum iron, zinc .
