Abstract:
The total incidence of salmonella in egg samples examined was 2.55% with isolation of 865 strains differ-entiated into 18 serotypes and untyped strains. The incidenoe in dead embryos in shell was 3.31%, in newly hatched chicks 2.56%, while in infertile incubated eggs the incidence of salmonella reached the lowest level(1.78%). Concerning the epidemiology of infeotion it was noticed that salmonellosis was explored in 1979,where the incidence reached 8.08% in egg samples in cOm- parison to that in 1978 (0.66%). Due to the applicatioA~ strict control measures, the incidence in the hatohe- ries d~crQased oonsiderably to 0.41% in 1980.Salmonellae were isolated from 723 hatchery environment samples during 1979 in which the fluff samples exhibited the high incidence (37.5%), followed by wall swabs (25%), fans (21.6%) trays (14%) and airsamples (7.29%) in a total incidence of 21.1% and recovery of 159 strains. Thirteen serotypes were differ-entiated from hatchery environment, where ~. ga11inarum - ll.Tam was ’be moa’ preaominatingisola~ea t40.8~).In broiler farms, examination of 9152 cases revealed
