Studies on Colisepticaemia In Poultry in Dakahlia Province

Abstract:
Fourty E.coli ~trains were isolnt~d out of 505 chickens of different ages and different localities in DAKAHLIA Governornte and suspected to be infected with colisepticaemio.. The isolated strains were sero-groupedinto 026. 078, 086, 0111 ffild 0114. E.coliserogroup 078 was the most commonly encountered strnin. The clinical signs of the birds from which these strains hQve been isolated were : depreSSion, inappe- tence, ruffled feathers, diarrhoea, rhinitis and highmortality up to 10 %. Post-mortem examination of dead birds revealed :congestion of the liver, spleen and kiful~Ys, enteritis, unabsorbed yolk sac , sinusitis, t r-ache L tis, congestion of the lungs, fibrinous p~ricarditis, perihepatitis,air SQcculits, ovoritis and egg peritonitis. Experimental infection of day-old chicks with the isolated strains via subcutaneous intranasal and oral .
