Abstract:
In this study, infectious necrotic hepatitis was experimentally tried in 80 guinea-pigs and 10 sheep insix experiments. 1- Oral administration of 30 guinea-pigs by Cl. novyitype B spore suspension showed that the organism reached the mesentric lYmph nodes 12 hours, liver, spleenand kidneys 24 ho~~s after exposure to infection. No pathological changes were noticed except congestion of the small and large intestines. 2- Intrahepatic injection of calcium chloridesolution and oral administration of 21. novyi type B culture showed that out of 20 infected guinea-pigs,two animals only died after 24 hours and 7 days, with hepatic necrosis specially at the site of inoculationand distended gall-bladder. 21. novyi type B was isolated from liver and heart blood of both cases and also betatoxin was detected.
