Abstract:
This work has been initiated to stferent species ot Babesia infecting equines by thefiuqr: antibody technique. The antigen was prepared ~rom a naturally infeotedspleneotomised donkey when 80 % of the erythrocytes were infected by Babesia eqUi • The blood was oollected insterile Alsever’s ’solution (v/v). Three washings of the erythrovytes were aocomplished by centrifugation at )000rpm after suspension in physiological saline solution. then thick blood films were prepared on clean slides. The donkey gamma-globulin was prepared by ammonium s~phate precipitation and was then injeoted in an adultgoat to prepare the anti-donkey gamma-globulin. Then separation of the gamma-globulin from the hyper immuneserum was done by armnonium sulphate precipitation end was conjugated with fluore&eine isoth1CX!ynate (FITC).The conjugated goat anti-horse gamma gmobu11n was obtained from Gama.lei msti tute, USSR.
