Abstract:
In the course of the present investigatiun, theadrenals of 30 laying hens and 24 female broilers ofDokk~-4 fowl were used for the study of the normalstructure and the histoe~ymolo€:;Y’ ot the adrenal gland. The micromorphological structure revealed thatthere. •is no significant structural difference betweenthe adrenal”gland of broilers and laying hens although. the adrenal gland of laying hens is characterized by arelatively thicker connective tissue capsule. The adrenal gland of laying hens is surrounded bya well developed pericapsula.r ganglionic sheath e~epta ~lall area of the capsule consists of nerve cells, nerve ltundles and nerve fibers embedded in connectivetissue eritirely surrounding the capsule The interstitial framework consists mainly of retic-ular fiberst very tine elastic and collagenic fibera.~e gland is richly supplied with an extensive capillarynetwo~k c cnnec ted with the venous sinuses that are dist-ributed among the cortical and medullary groups of cells. The blood sinuses in the center of the gland are wider .
