Abstract:
1. A survey on staphylococcal infection amone chickens and turkeys ’vas carried out It was found that outof 395 ailing and dead chickens and turkeys suspected to be infected \tithstaphylococcosis, 99 cases (25.06%) revealed staphylococcus micro-organisms • The isolated strains were typed as J Staphylococcus aureus (17.97%), Staphylococcus enidermidis (2.53%)and StaphylococcllS epidermidis infection (1.26%). The incidence of streptococcal infection among chickensan d turkeys was studied. One hundred and twenty eight stre)tococcal strains were isolated and grouped bioche-mically and serologically as : Streptococcus faecalis (19.81%) , St~eptococcus feecium (6.68%), Strentococcus zooepidemicu·s(2.63%) and StreDt ococ~ avium(1.43%). 3.
