Abstract:
The material for this investigation of 2460 cattle,249 buffaloes and 408 sheep was obt~ined from slaughtered ani-mals at different localities in Behera Governorate. Their exami.na t Lon revealed an infestation rate with tapeworms of 11.50, 3.21 and 14.21% respectively. Cattle were infestedwith Moniezia benedeni,1:1. expans~, l~vitellin~ centril;?un .•~ and Stilesia globipunctat.§l,. But the buffaloes were infected only 111[i th M. benederri , While sheep harboured 1,1. !!.~ansa and Avitellina centri.Runctata.The incidence ofinfestation with tapeworms among male cattle was 11.71% and 5.13% in females. The ages of males. investigated hadranged from 2-2.5 years, whd Le females were up to 5 years old. The highest level of infestation among cattle occurred in Summer attaining 17.78%, followed by the Spring and Autu-mn wher-e the incidence wa s 10.59 and 10.17% respectively.’lhile during l’linter it attained its Lowe st; level, being 7.53%.I!onthly infection rate showed that the highest incidence was uring July and Augus t being 20.0%, and 17.0%.
