Abstract:
In this work isolation and comparative studies of cultural method, antigenicity, enzymatic, antibiotic activity of Tr. verrucosum was carried out • .A total of 475 animals clinioally showing ringworm lesions of which 300 cattle, 75 camel, 50 sheep and 50 elements. Direct microscopical examination of the infected haird scales showed the typical megaspores ectothrix hair invasion. Cultural examination of hairs and scales yielded 184 strains of Tr. verrucosum of which 155 from cattle(51.66%); 14 strain from and 7 from cmael (9.33%). Beside Tr. verrucoswm only one cow yielded 8. single a strain (0.33%) ofTr mentagrophytes. • Three varieties of Tr. verrucosum were isolated from cattle, camel, sheep and goat viz var album(125) strains (80.6%); (5) strains (71.4%), (8) strains(57.14%) and (5) strains (62.5%) respectively; discoides (22) strains (14.19%); (2)
