Abstract:
The w:i.de use of organophosphorus compoundsas insecticides to protect agricultural crops and .recarded’ cases of toxicity resulting from suchapplication draw our attention to study the toxicityof Cyolane. One of the recent systemic poisons.The main problem is alwdYs the presence of residuesin meat and milk of toxicated animals which could beas a result a scurce of toxicity to human consumption.Our study included two parts:The first part:This part dealt with acute toxicity in rats.It included:1. Determination of toxic dose levels of Cyolane inrats. It was found that the LD50 given, to rats is 7.949 mg/Kg B.Wt.orally2. Signs and symptoms of toxicity:Tbese were found to be depression, incoordinat-ion~sa11vation, diarrhoea, contracted pqpils, ’rapidand shallow respiration~muscular tremors and comafollowed by death.
