Abstract:
This study was conducted in Faculty of VeterinaryZagazigUniversity,BenhaBranch-Moshtohor.objectives of this study were, to investigate: 1)effect of treating wheat and rice straw with anhydrousammonia on improving digestibility, feed intake and rumenparameters, 2) the fungicidal effect of ammonia on the~t wheat and rice straws. The 1.5 tonof rice strawof wheat straw and 1.5 tontreated by 3% anhydrous ammonia in a stack method andsealed for 21 days.Six digestibility trials were conducted to determine thedigestion coefficient of barseem hay by direct methodand barley, untreated wheat straw, treated wheat straw, untreated rice straw and treated rice straw by indirectmethod. The six rations used in the digestibility trials wereformulated as follows:-1- Barseem hay ration.2- Barseem hay + barley.3- Barley + wheat straw.4- Barley + ammoniated wheat straw.5- Barley + rice straw.6- Barley +ammoniated rice straw.
