Abstract:
A total of 61 apparently healthy non~gravid and 32gravid uteri obtained from slaughtered ewes, more-over t 30 Ll.v Lng evves suffer Lng from genital infect ionwere examined for trhe purpose of study Ing the irbacter ial flora.2. The samples for bacteriological ex am l nnt Lon ’weretaken from the right and left Fe.llopian tubes,uterus and cerv tx of the ncn-jjr av id organs, whereasfrom the right and left Fallopian tubes, the intercotyledonary and cotyledonary spaces, the amniotiofluid, the abdominal cavity of the foetus and thecervical canal in the case of gravid uteri. Samplesfrom the external os were obtained from livingdiseased ewes.3. Few numbers of slaughtered materials were proved tobe bacteriologically free, of which a great numberof these cases (8 out of 11 sterile non~gravid organs)were diagnosed in the follicular phase of the cycle.The bacterioidal effeot of estrobenio hormones wasdiscussed. Meanwhile, none of the diseased eweswere sterile.4. One or more species of micro-organisms were isolatedfrom the aforementioned affeoted sites.
