Abstract:
1-Postmortem examination of 13 slaughtered rams was.carried out and macroscopical lesions were described.Specimens from the testes $ epididymis and Lymph node a(inguinals and prefemorals) wane taken from 5 of :t;~1.eserams for histopathological exam.l.natri.on ,1. Typical lesions characterstic of C. avis infectionwith obvious cording , advanced fibrosis and. c omp.l.ebeobliteration of the .af f’ e.cerrt and efferent vesselsof the• affected Lymph nodes was noticed.2. The scrotal sac of 10 cases was greatly distendedand swollen. The wall was thicl:ened and oedemateousand the sac contained a considerable amount uf serousfluid. ;:lill1.esions between the scrotal wall and tunicswere noticed.4. Unilateral epididymitis with -lJesticular atrophy wasobserved in 10 cases.5. Epididymal cystic lesions were noticed in 3 cases. Thepresence of disceniegrating sperms which denotes theoccurrance of spermiostasis or spermiocele was dem-onestrated in smears prepared from their inspissatedyellowish contents. No spermgranulomatous c.ellularreaction could be detected.
