The isolated strains weregrouped ser~logical11 into serotypes, 0and 0128.Sensitivity tests of the isolated serotypes toantibiotics, in vitro, showed that all serotypes weresensitive to furmasone, kanamycin, chloramphenicol andneomycin, but differed in their sensitivity to s•trept-omycin and ampicillin. All the isolates were resistantto tetracycline, erythromycin, penicillin G and compoundsukphonamfdee ,The commonest abnormalities fotUld in \to!le ’’bloedchemis-trY’ of the diarrheio butf.alo-c’al:-v.es were hypernatraemia ,nyperkalaemia. and ureemia, but no significaJ’lt differenc.e inehlorides between normal and diarrheic buftalo-cal ves wasdetected.St~dies on blood glucose levels and body weight a significant decl.’easEi in’ ~blo,od glucose and a signi-ficant loss in body weight ot: difar:t’h~ic buffalo-calves.
