Abstract:
1.The combined Newcastle and fowl pox vaccine was prepared by mixing equal amounts of the two vac- cines, to facilitate mass vaccination, save timeand efforts.2.The potency of the combined vaccine in embryona- ted chicken eggs, the titre was studies and foundthat 10-9 ml. in Newcastle portion while it was 10-7.7/ml• in the fowl pox portion.3.The potency of the combined vaccine in susceptible 8week old cll1ek ell3 it was shown that from dilutions10-3 - 10-6 gave protection 80 - 100% against Newcastle disease, and dilutions from 10-3 - 10-5gave protection 100% against fowl pox disease.Wilile all control birds showed typical signs of Newcastle and fowl pox disease4.When the combined vaccine was used in a field dose and applied on wing-web, it gave 96% protection against Newcastle disease and 94% against fowlpox but the immunity was decreased when the two
