Abstract:
The present investigation was carried out to studythe relationship between the serum immunoglobulin levelsand the neonatal enteritis in newborn buffalo calves •Electrophoretic studies using polyacrylamide gel columns for estimating the relative mobility values of the buffalo sera and colostra immunoglobulin revealed thatit was ranging from 12.5 - 28.5 and 14-24 for immunoglobulin G in sera and colostra respectively, while those of I M -g were ranging from 6-12 for sera and from 7-14 for cOlotra. The immunoglobulin mean values of buffalo dams serum, colostrum whey and their newborn calves sera were30.8 mg/ml. 134.6 mg/ml and 21.9 mg/ml respe~tivelY, statis- tical studies showed that there was a weak correlation bet- ween the immunoglobulin levels of dams sera, colostra and their colostrum fed calves sera.Studying the immunoglobulin levels in buffalo during the 1st 15 days of life revealed that calves which developednon-fatal diarrhoea had lower immunoglobulin levels than
