Abstract:
A study on Pasteurellosis in. buffaloes in Egypt was under taken.1.Out of 500 nasopharyngeal swabs collected from appare- ntly healthy buffaloes, 40 strains of Pasteurellamultociqa were isolated. Out of the 40 Pasteurellamultocida isolates, 23 were type I Roberts, 6 type 11 Roberts, 2 type IV Roberts, and 9 isolates could not be typed.2.Out of 100 nasopharyngeal swabs collected from appar- ently healthy cattle, 6 Ls o Lat es of Pasteurellamulto cidawere isolated. Out of the 6 isolates, 3 were type I Roberts, Z type 11 Roberts and one isolate wasuntypable.3. Out of 100 nasopharyngeal swabs collected from normal camels, 6 isolates of Pasteurella multocida wereisolated. Out of the 6 isolates 4 were type I Roberts wld 2 were type 11 Roberts.4.Out of 200 nasal swabs collected from healthy sheep 14 strai~s of Pasteurella multocida were isolated. Outof the 14 isolates 5 were type I Roberts, 3 type 11, 3 type IV and 3 were untypable.
