Abstract:
Seroepidemiological sur-vey was carried out on 1360 donkey s serum samples which were investigated for thedet-ection of antibodies to AHS virus.The serum samples were collected from different geo-graphyical areas of EgyptThe samples were investigated using_differen~ sero- logical techniques usually applied for identification of antibodies.Thirty one of 333 (9.3%) serum samples collected from Kena Governorate were positive for AHSV complement fixingantibodies with a titre ranged between 1:4 to 1:32, (7.2%) and (3.3%) of 333 samples were positive in PHA and AGP tests respectively.Fifteen of 22\0 (6 .81%) sert~ samples collected from Pani-Swef Govetnorate were positive for complement fixing•>l.antibodies of AHS virus with a titre ranged between 1:4 to 1: 32.,. Only 5% of these sera reacted in the PHA test but no Ion reac1was detected using AGP test.In Sohage Governorate 13 of 200 (2.56%) donkeys serum were positive for AHSV complement fixing antibodies with
