Abstract:
1) El-Marg Farm for Breeding Calves belonging to the Egyptian Company for Meat and Milk Production was put under observation for 9 months. Faecal andblood samples were taken continuously from 90 apparently healthy buffalo-calves to study the correlation between cultural and serological examination of SalmoneIla carrier. Salmonella strains were isolated from 25 out of 90 calves about one month old. The2) Antigens were prepared from the isolates recovered from infected animals in the farm and were used forthe agglutination test of the serum samples of the 90 calves for a period of 9 months. All the positive culturalcases gave positive agglutination by the tube agglutination test using ”0” and ”Hit antigens.
